Import duties and taxes

Kiratora ships every order from Japan, so it is imported into your country. Here is what that means for you.

Who pays

Our prices and shipping do not include import duty, VAT/GST, sales tax or carrier clearance fees. These are paid by the buyer, usually to the carrier before or at delivery.

Orders to the United States

The US no longer applies its $800 duty-free allowance to imports, so US orders of any value may be charged import duty and carrier fees. The carrier contacts you to pay them before or at delivery.

Other countries

Most countries charge VAT or GST on imports, and many add duty and a carrier handling fee above a set value. Check your country's customs website for the current rules.

How we declare your parcel

Every parcel is declared at its real contents and value. We never mark orders as gifts or declare a lower value, so your parcel clears customs without problems.

If charges are refused

If import charges are refused, the parcel is returned to Japan. Please make sure you are ready to pay any charges before you order.
