Card condition guide
Condition decides what a card is worth, so it should never be a surprise. Here is how condition is described across the hobby, and how it works at Kiratora.
Raw (ungraded) cards
A raw card is one that has not been graded by a grading company. Collectors describe raw cards on a common scale:
| Condition | What it means |
|---|---|
| Near Mint (NM) | Looks fresh from the pack, with at most tiny flaws seen up close. |
| Lightly Played (LP) | Light edge or corner wear or small scratches, visible on inspection. |
| Moderately Played (MP) | Clear wear on edges, corners or surface, still fully intact. |
| Heavily Played (HP) | Heavy wear, creasing or whitening across the card. |
| Damaged | Tears, bends, water damage or writing. |
Graded cards
A graded card has been authenticated and sealed in a slab by a grading company, with its grade on the label. On the PSA scale, 10 is Gem Mint, 9 Mint, 8 Near Mint-Mint, 7 Near Mint, 6 Excellent-Mint, 5 Excellent, 4 Very Good-Excellent, 3 Very Good, 2 Good and 1 Poor. You can look up any PSA slab by its certification number on the PSA certification lookup.
How Kiratora lists condition
- Every single's listing says whether it is raw or graded, and any condition note, for example Near Mint.
- Graded cards show the grading company and grade, and we check slab certification numbers.
- Photos show the actual item or a representative copy, as the listing states.
- Singles ship sleeved, toploaded and sealed against moisture in a rigid mailer or box, and slabs are wrapped and boxed against knocks.
